Summary:
We are seeking an experienced software architect who understands the modern principles of backend software design, has excellent experience in developing backend services, who is able to promptly react on business requests, do the research, create design proposals, implement PoCs and lead the team of professional developers to deliver high quality product.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop single sign-on authentication services for Ooma; integrate with third-party identity providers.
- Understand complete map of Ooma services and products, and used technologies.
- Communicate with product team and engineering management. Understand and fine-tune the requirements.
- Plan and design the structure of a solution, considering exiting services and technologies. Evaluate and select appropriate software and suggest integration methods.
- Work on design proposals and HLDs.
- Implement proof of concept and fundament for new services.
- Communicate and explain the requirements to development team.
- Assist with solving technical problems when they arise.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Ensure the implementation of agreed architecture and infrastructure.
- Work with operations and QA. Troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Review technical debt and existing issues. Address technical concerns, ideas and suggestions.
- Collaborate with other engineers in Sunnyvale and at Oomas offshore locations.
- Attend daily stand-ups.
What this role needs:
- 10+ years of software development experience.
- 5+ years of Architect role.
- Experience with single sign-on, authentication and RBAC systems, session management, user profiles, and user identity and authentication frameworks such as SAML, OAuth and SCIM.
- Strong experience with industry standard SSO technologies and protocols (OAuth, OpenID Connect, FIDO, SCIM, LDAP, SAML)
- Expertise in Identity and Authentication solutions such as Okta
- Knowledge of LDAP and Active Directory services, MFA, Risk based authentication and privileged access management
- Holistic view of IAM (Authentication and Authorization Data, Endpoint Security, Network Security, Policy Engine
- Understanding of multi-threading, concurrency and grasp of commonly used data structures and algorithms.
